Global Alarm: The GlobalAlarm establishesa singlemeasurement parameterwith a
rangeofacceptance.Wheneverthemeasuredvalueexceedsthisrange
ofacceptance,anaudibleandvisualalarmwillbeissued.TheGlobal
Alarmwillapplytoanytestthatisrun.TheQCLimitalsoestablishesa
measurementparameterwitharangeofacceptance;however,theQC
Limitisappliedonlytothetestinwhichitisdened.
TheGlobalAlarmcanbesetforanyofthefourmeasurementparameters
including; Shear Stress, Temperature, Torque and Viscosity. Once a
parameterisselected,bothlowandhighlimitsmustbeentered.These
limitsareindependentofthespindleandspeedselected.Whentheglobal
alarmistriggered,theDV2TwillprovideanaudiblealarmandaWarning
messageonthescreen(seeFigureIV-6).Theerrormessagewillprovide
somedetailaboutthealarmcondition.Thetestanddatacollectionwill
continue while the Warning message is displayed. The audible alarm
willcontinuetosounduntiltheoperatortouchestheOKbuttonwithinthe
Warning box.

TheRunningViscosityTestdisplaywillshowacoloredboxaroundthedata
parameterassociatedwiththeGlobalAlarm.Whenthealarmcondition
isrstmet,thecoloredboxwillbeyellow.Ifthemeasurementparameter
returnstotheacceptablerange,thenthecoloredboxwillberemoved.
Whenthealarmconditionismetasecondtime,thecoloredboxwillbe
red(seeFigureIV-7).Theaudiblealarmwillonlysoundonce.
